Easter Egg Hunt: Homemade Treats for Your Pup

Put a seasonal spin on your pup’s treats with this simple recipe! We’re using blueberries for a touch of natural color that’s as fun as it is healthy. This Oceanside-inspired Easter egg hunt activity is bound to be a crowd-pleaser for you and your four-legged friend!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of blueberries – Brings a fun, natural purple hue and loads of antioxidants!

  • ¼ cup of water – For blending consistency.

  • 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt – Packed with probiotics (just make sure it’s plain and unsweetened).

  • ½ cup of peanut butter – Double-check it’s xylitol-free, as this sweetener isn’t safe for pups.

Instructions

  1. Blend the Ingredients

Toss everything into a blender and blend until smooth. The blueberries add a sweet hint and a springtime color, making the treats look as good as they taste!

  2. Pour into a Mold

Use a silicone Easter egg mold or any dog-safe mold for a cute, festive shape. Spread the mixture evenly in each mold.

  3. Freeze

Pop the molds in the freezer for 3-4 hours until everything is completely frozen. This gives the treats a nice, firm texture, perfect for hiding!

  4. Set Up Your Easter Egg Hunt 🐾

Hide these frozen treats around your house or backyard, placing them in spots that are just tricky enough to make the hunt exciting but not too hard for your pup to sniff out. For a little added fun, you could even leave a “trail” of treats leading to the hidden Easter eggs!

  5. Watch the Fun Unfold 🎉

Now let your dog loose and watch them go wild! Not only will they get to enjoy a tasty adventure, but it’s also a great way to exercise their senses and keep them moving.

Tips for a Safe, Fun Easter Egg Hunt 🐣

  • Check Ingredients for Safety: If your dog has allergies or dietary needs, you can swap out any ingredient for a safe alternative they love. Just make sure it’s pup-friendly!

  • Skip the Plastic Eggs: Stick to edible molds so there’s no risk of choking on plastic pieces.

  • Supervise the Hunt: Keep an eye on your pup to make sure they enjoy the treats safely and don’t get into any mischief with non-edibles.
